  • Conduct Feasibility Study Reviews with Clients & stakeholders;

  • Perform ROM Capital Cost Estimates for new plant & equipment.

  • Basic Engineering & Design

  • Develop Conceptual Engineering & Feasibility Studies into basic engineering specifications;

  • Create P&ID’s, Line Lists, Equipment Data Sheets for requisitioning purposes;

  • Sizing & full technical specification of equipment such as distillation columns, heat exchangers,

  • tanks, pumps, drums & in-line instrumentation;

  • Conduct flow diagram reviews, hazop studies.

  • Prepare reports on Basic Engineering studies.

  • Detailed Engineering & Design

  • Provide detailed engineering support for design disciplines;

  • Perform detailed hydraulic analysis of all piping systems using AFT Fathom Hydraulic software;

  • Calculation of safety relief rates in line with API;

  • Maintain P&ID’s in line with design development;

  • Provide field punching service where applicable;

  • Heat input calculations for Hot Tap purposes with the aid of Battelle software. 

// PIPING ENGINEERING & DESIGN
  • Piping Engineering & Design :

  • Creation of electronic P & I diagrams, i.e. update of existing systems or creation of new.

  • Preliminary bill of materials.

  • Line lists; drawing indexes.

  • “As-Built” drawings of existing plant & facilities.

  • Plot plans.

  • Planning studies.

  • Piping design in 2-D & 3-D file formats associated with chemical/petro-chemical plants; process

  • plants, eg high pressure steam lines; process lines; special pipe work.

  • Isometric & composite isometric drawings with material take-offs.

  • All design done in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys, non-metallic (HDPE, PVC, GRP).

  • All deliverables designed according to ANSI 16.5, ASME B31.1 to 8, P.E.R., SANS 347 design standards including SANS (SABS), vendor specifications as supplied.

  • Mechanical Engineering & Design :

  • Detail Design & Drawing of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, filters, columns & hoppers as per the latest specifications of ASME as well as storage tanks as per API 620 & API 650,
